Poll Results: Joshua’s Punishment

21 Sack Beatings 17 Sack Full of Nickels Beatings 13 Hugs 26 Convenient Disney Deaths I’m actually quite surprised by the number of people with sympathy for Joshua.  Well…I guess we’ll see what will become of Joshua in a chapter or two.  I still maintain that he will be sacrificed. On the matter of “Zettai Heiwa Daisakusen,” I did read that chapter 17 was the climax of the story.  I suppose this means the series is ending soon.  I don’t know how many chapters are left, but chapter 18 or 19 will be the end of the fourth volume. New Poll: What to do with Joshua?

First of all:DAMN YOU, JOSHUA!!!! He’s definitely earned the “boo-boo” face from me ;p. I honestly never though Joshua could be so despicable.   Yet, he’s so pathetic that I can’t completely hate him.  It’s like, “There, there little monkey.  What happened?  Not enough hugs?”  And, yet, I want to leap into the pages and beat Joshua senseless when I think about poor Johanne who is now imprisoned in a comfy jail awaiting execution or rescue or the perfect time to escape in order to, perhaps, finish what he started at the end of chapter 14.  (I’m having popcorn while translating … Continue reading New Poll: What to do with Joshua?

Scanlation Crackdown Group Formed

Here’s an article about it from Publisher’s Weekly.  Yikes, everybody…so you haven’t been buying the books…hmmm…Actually, I know this very well, since NONE of you have bought a book from Amazon through the links I provide and less than .1% of you even click on the links.  All of you understand that “free” is not a business model. Well, I certainly don’t do scanlation to hurt the publishers or the artists and I’m sad to see that consumers will not pay for their favorite manga titles when they do become available for purchase.  At the same time, manga at ~$10/volume, … Continue reading Scanlation Crackdown Group Formed

Some Thoughts on a New Series to Translate and Recruitment

http://deliporo.wordpress.com/I’ve been looking through my stacks of magazines and so far here’s what caught my eye: “Jiu Jiu” — Chp 1 is already out, but there hasn’t been an update in 3-months.  The first chapter didn’t impress me that much (the dialog is very flat and lifeless), but the later chapters look interesting.  I will check back into this series to see if the groups that did the first chapter are, indeed, continuing it.  If some of you have time, please read the first chapter (Link) and let me know what you think. “The Princess and the Three Wild Beasts” … Continue reading Some Thoughts on a New Series to Translate and Recruitment

My Thoughts about Orange Chocolate Chapter 4

What I like about this chapter is the way, towards the end, Chiro starts to confront her own personality.  She wonders if she is as bubble-headed as Ritsu is playing her.  I wonder will Ritsu’s behavior while he’s in Chiro body affect the way Chiro’s friends and colleagues perceive her.  Sure, Chiro has her impulsive moments, but she’s not fiery like when Ritsu inside of her.  I wonder will Ritsu soon begin to confront his own personality.  I think he’s definitely getting a different perspective on Chiro.  I get the feeling that he’s taking her more seriously in terms of … Continue reading My Thoughts about Orange Chocolate Chapter 4

Some Thoughts on the Lastest Developments in Ouran 77

Don’t get me wrong, I like “Ouran High School Host Club” very much, but I think the dramatic turn it has taken lately is throwing a lot of people for a loop.  I, myself, feel a little duped because it started out a classic screw-ball comedy that I liked for story’s and the character’s irreverence.  Now, I feel like I’m being forced to ride an emotional roller coaster. For me the change in Ouran occured when the twins got serious about Haruhi and then went about establishing separate identities for themselves.  Sure it was heartwarming, but, at the same time, … Continue reading Some Thoughts on the Lastest Developments in Ouran 77
