This is the extra short one-shot included in “Fushigi no Maria-kun” Volume 1.  It’s a cute little high school romance story.  I always like it when authors are able to tell a complete story in very few pages. This one-shot took forever to complete!  Everything about it was time consuming!  I’m so glad it’s done!  I forgot how difficult Bisco Hatori’s works are to translate. Fortunately,  I really like this one-shot so it was a pleasure. Hugo Poll

Love him or hate him, Hugo is an interesting character.  Is he Ayato’s friend, enemy, or both?  Seriously, what IS his deal?  Personally, I think he’s there on a specific mission, but I don’t think things are going as planned — though, I admit I have no idea what his mission is.  I think Hugo is getting a little side-track because, regardless of the Magnolia smell, he likes Ayato. "Magnolia" Chp 18

First if of all, I must say Naked Ape does some of the loveliest cover and title page art out there.  I’m always excited when they have color pages.  I really wish they would release a Magnolia calendar.  I really like the colors on this illustration.  The composition really brings out the green of Ayato’s eyes.We continue with the tea party in this chapter.  A warning to Hugo haters:  you are going to want to put your fist through your monitor before the end of this chapter.  Hugo is especially dog-like…well, more like a male slut.  He’s a terrible guy … Continue reading "Magnolia" Chp 18

First of all, and this has nothing to do with “Fushigi no Maria-kun”, there’s a great Taiwanese live action version of “Skip Beat” in the middle of its run.  It’s up to episode 4.  If you aren’t watching it, go watch it!  It can be found in “the usual places” (don’t ask, because I’m not telling). "Seirei Produce" Chapter 8

Strangely enough, this chapter is very appropriate for Christmas because Amane’s backstory is eerily similar to the story of another spirit that descended to Earth whose birth we celebrate this time of year.  Hmmm…It’s an interesting twist on that story.  Hahaha!  I wonder if there will be any further parallels.
