Thoughts on Borders Bankruptcy

Borders Books is in bankruptcy and I’ve seen all kinds of blame going around.  I was most irritated by people who blamed customers for Borders demise.  That’s like saying the customer doesn’t know what they want and that we as customers should be joyful for whatever Borders brings to our lives. Ouran Special Spoiler

Here are my three favorite pages from the January 2011 Ouran special chapter.  The rest of the one-shot is mostly the story of “special guest star”  poor little rich girl Nanako sandwiched in a Barcelona travel brochure.  So, no, it’s not really about Kyouya either.  It’s more like a normal random chapter of Ouran in which the Host Club helps some person in distress.  Anyhow, please enjoy this preview.  We’ll try to get the rest of the one-shot completed before the end of the month. Japanese Woodblock Prints at the San Diego Museum of Art

Today I went to the San Diego Museum of Art in Balboa Park with Omari to see the “Dreams and Diversions” exhibit.  This exhibit features Japanese woodblock prints from 250-years ago to the present.  A majority of the prints were from two artists named Hakusai (1760 – 1849) and Hiroshige (1797-1858).  The prints featured were the first examples of mass produced postcards.  These postcards were sold at key points along the road from Kyoto to Edo (now Tokyo) as a way to remember the trip.
